Catalina (Domestic abuse and settlement)

Catalina married a British national and was successfully granted entry to the UK as his spouse. Whilst cohabiting in the UK with her husband in a genuine and subsisting relationship, she was subjected to various forms of abuse by her husband including emotional abuse, financial abuse, coercive and controlling behaviour.

We represented Catalina and supported her in obtaining evidence from the police, social services, the GP, and school, successfully submitting an application on her behalf seeking settlement as a victim of domestic abuse.

Catalina was successful in being accepted as a victim of domestic abuse and was granted settlement. She is now safely living in the UK, is renting her own home, working full-time, and supporting her son.
